Description
In-depth interviews with twenty female executives reveal new insights about women's leadership styles and how they can help both women and men become more effective leaders and managers.

Reviews:
-Werhane (business ethics, DePaul U.) and her co-authors report on their interviews with 22 top women executives, detailing their commitment and perseverance in the face of what must have seemed at the time to be insurmountable odds....Both the interviewers and the interviewed firmly avoid cliches and stereotypes, making this lively and deeply informative. —SciTech Book News
-Werhane et al. interviewed 22 women executives to get their thoughts on leadership styles and how they have broken through the glass ceiling. Each executive's story focuses on one aspect of her career or management style. They share ideas on coaching, mentoring, creativity, building a culture of trust, managing reputations, social commitment, being customer-centered, being a servant-leader, and many other refreshing takes on what has made them and their companies stand out....Women in Business is in the management genre, which makes it better suited for academic and larger public library business collections. —Library Journal
-A collaborative effort of five female academics, this volume engagingly tells the stories of 22 women leaders in corporate and entrepreneurial roles. The book is based on interviews with these leaders and reports on their achievements, the values and visions they bring to and enact in their organizations, and the contributions they have made to the companies in which they hold leadership positions....This is a must read for anyone (regardless of gender, race, or ethnic background) wishing to gain a deeper understanding about leading and managing successfully in a global economy, but it will be of particular interest to those concerned with the growing influence of women in leadership positions....Highly recommended. —Choice
