Kathleen Hanes has done an impressive search of the literature of art therapy in group settings. ... Included in her book are references to articles, chapters, and entire books on group art therapy published in English since 1951. Also cited are a number of unpublished papers, dissertations, theses, and workshop and conference proceedings. Most of the 538 citations are annotated. ... The book also contains an author index, a subject index, and an index of the journals cited. Hanes has attempted some cross-referencing within the annotations themselves, and this can be useful for researchers. In format then the book is a helpful scholarly resource--an extraordinary achievement for which Hanes is to be congratulated. ...Hanes's bibliography is a good start, a real contribution to the field of group art therapy.
