  • Recommended as a basic overview for public, school, or undergraduate libraries.
    —Library Journal
    10/15/2003
  • An account of what chemistry is and what chemists do as opposed to a text of how to do chemistry, this engaging introduction to the field is at its best when speaking historically....Myers does a good job in providing an appropriate, introductory level of detail, choosing to err on the side of clear, general descriptions as opposed to subtle, difficult reasoning....for the beginner, the book will provide insight and motivation for further study. Recommended. General readers.
