About the Author: Colin C. Irvine is Assistant Professor of English at Augsburg College. He teaches courses in environmental literature, American literature, secondary education methods, and composition. His research interests focus on the intersections of life and literature, with an emphasis on how novels inform and influence thought and behavior.
