Description: Much has happened since 1992,the publication date of this text's third edition, to change schools and school libraries. The publication by AASL of Information Power: Building Partnerships for Learning with its emphasis on the collaborative teaching role of school media specialists, the new emphasis on information literacy, the proliferation of new technologies and the introduction of the Internet have all had huge effects on the administration of a school library media center. This book encompasses all of these additions while still covering the basics of administration, facilities management, selection of materials, staffing, budgeting, organization etc. There is much that is all new, all chapters have been reviewed and updated and has been carefully reviewed to bring it inline with the school libraries of the twenty-first century. The author, Dr. Betty J. Morris, is a professor of school library media in Georgia.
