James Steele
JAMES STEELE
received a Bachelor of Arts degree, as an English Major, from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., and both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He practiced architecture in and around the Philadelphia area for twelve years and became registered in Pennsylvania before relocating to Saudi Arabia where he taught for eight years, at King Faisal University in Dammam. He then moved to London, and served as Senior Editor of Architectural Design magazine, while also teaching at the Prince of Wales's Institute for Architecture. Since 1991, he has taught at the University of Southern California, where he has also received a Doctorate in Urban Planning and is now a tenured Professor there. He has written extensively about both traditional and contemporary architecture and has had several books published.
