A World View of Social Issues
series is designed to provide students with one-volume reference sources exploring social issues from a world perspective. Each volume addresses a particular issue such as Crime and Crime Control, Women's Rights and Teen Violence. These topics are explored in chapters devoted to specific countries--that are representative of different world regions--chosen due to the significance of the issue in that country, recognition of its importance, and the country's efforts to deal with it. Students will discover the global scope of these issues and compare and contrast the similarities and differences in how these diverse cultures address them. Volumes in the series feature:
Cross-Cultural comparisons allowing students to draw their own conclusions
Chapters include developed, developing and undeveloped nations to provide a broad perspective
Both historical and current information concerning each issue
Both social and political views and suggested solutions provided
Bibliographies for further research for each chapter
