Forthcoming in Fall 2007 - Daily Life AmericaDaily Life America is the fourth member of the Daily Life Online suite of products; it is offered as a standalone database or fully integrated in the DLO family. This new product expands DLO's coverage, making it a truly comprehensive, curriculum-related social history website, covering past and present, the U.S. and the world. Read how pre-Columbian Native Americans traveled and hunted, what immigrant farmers did during holidays, what it was like to work in a factory during the Industrial Revolution, what a house in Levittown looked like, and much more. The website is arranged by topic, region, and period, as spelled out in the National Standards for United States History, allowing students and researchers to compare and contrast what daily life was like, say, on a cotton plantation in the South, a frontier town in the West, and a whaling village on the East Coast during the antebellum period. Special features include a State-by-State resource guide, offering in-depth information on each of the states, as well as primary documents, maps, photos, and links to vetted websites. ALA in Washington, DCVisit Greenwood Publishing at our booth #3735 at ALA this June to see our databases in action. Come by for scheduled demonstrations, with a free gift at the end of each session, or if more convenient, stop by for a personal tour whenever your schedule allows.
